Oliver Ray

I am a Bristol based artist who’s automotive focus is realism. I graduated in Creative Art and Design and have spent much of my career creating design solutions and award winning television advertisements.
I am now a full time artist focusing on what i really love by working through commissions.
I am not looking to achieve hyper realism, and always intentionally shows pencil and charcoal marks as well as the odd smudged finger print. I want to allow viewers to understand the process and techniques used to build the image.
I love The idea of people mistaking my work for a photo at first glance and becoming aware of the media on closer inspection.
My current work focuses on racing cars in some of their slower moments, rather than the usual hammering around a race track.
